ModusDoc 8.0.x Network Version Installation Guide
If you already have network version 8.0 installed, you should install the program into the existing installation folder. Typically, this is …Program Files (x86)\ModusDoc 8 Network
If you are upgrading from network versions 7.x or 6.0, we recommend following these steps to install the latest version:
- Install the program on the administrator's workstation (server) into the suggested folder (…Program Files (x86)\ModusDoc 8 Network)
- After launching the program for the first time, specify the shared folder where the NEW (empty) databases will be created.
- Next, go to the menu: [Tools] – [Utility Functions] – [Import databases and settings from previous ModusDoc versions…]
- Then, when a window prompts you to convert your databases to the NEW FORMAT upon startup, click OK.
- If you own a registered version, activate the program with your 8.0 key via [Help] – [Activation…]
- Install the program on the user workstations (see step 1). Upon their first launch, specify the new database folder path. Activate the program (see step 5).
Now you can test the program and decide how you want to use it. The previous and new versions will run completely independently of each other.
Please note!
After uninstalling the previous version and launching the new one, an error message about a missing or corrupted component might pop up. If this happens, click OK and confirm the required actions to fix the issue.
Even after uninstalling the program, your databases and settings will remain on your drive. You can delete them manually if needed. The settings folder (ModusDoc [Version Number] Network) is located at C:\Users\[User]\AppData\Roaming
